Dynamics AX 2012 – Vendor Prepayments on Purchase Order

Vendor’s prepayment in procurement process is a very common practice and in such scenario an organization should be able to track purchase order & their prepayments.

Earlier in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009, it was not possible to make a prepayment related to a purchase order and these were always two separate manual processes. (There was no transaction link between the prepayment for a purchase order and the actual purchase order)

With Dynamics AX 2012 it has been made very easy & simple with prepayment functionality.

Inventory Site Dimensions In Dynamics AX 2012

In Dynamics AX 2012 we have many options to utilize the Site Dimension; we can make it represents country/region/state all options are upon business requirements.

This Site dimension function in MS Dynamics AX 2012 is out of the box function; do not need to activate it as we used to do in previous version and site dimension could be a control point in the inventory items as well, where the user could not perform transaction without identifying the site dimension, and we have option to let AX validate on item site dimension, where the user could not use change site.

Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013(Beta) Available For Download

Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 has been released to Beta.  This new release includes so many exciting features like

-          Dynamics GP web client,

-          125+ functionality enhancements and

-          Extending integration Dynamics GP with the Microsoft stack.

Lots of technology advancements including “making Dynamics GP more efficient for cloud deployments” with Multi- Tenancy.

3. eConnect SDK is included on the image, but is not updated for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013

Dynamics AX 2009- Comparing AX and Active Directory User Accounts

 

If your customer is using AX 2009 and wanted wanted to compare the user accounts configured in AX with the user accounts in Active Directory. You can do it by the following process explained in details on "Dynamics AX In The Field Blog"

1. Find all AX user accounts that no longer exist in Active Directory.

Microsoft Dynamics GP Statement Of Direction - GP2013

One of the most common questions which most of the customers ask is what is the direction of Microsoft on Dynamics GP and what strategy, road map they have Dynamics GP.

Microsoft has released updated Statement of Direction (updated May 2012) for Dynamics GP and it has the most current plans for the product. The statement includes information about both Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 R2 and the upcoming release of Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013.

These Tools provides easy & flexible solution along with Dynamics ERP’s( GP & SL) which ensures proper data integrity, and increases the productivity and efficiency. With these (free) tools suite you can change your critical data quickly and accurately! 

For Dynamics GP, you need to download the most current version & install. Open the Professional Services Tools Library window from your shortcut and click Register.  The correct key will default in and then press click OK.

Also, you have the free access to some additional tools such as

-> AutoDIM

Allows you to launch Microsoft Dynamics GP and run one or more integrations or integration groups and have Microsoft Dynamics GP exit upon completion of the integrations. This tool also supports integrating into several different companies.

-> AutoPost

Allows you to call a COM DLL to post Sales Order Processing, GL Transaction Entry, IV Transaction Entry and RM Cash Receipt Batches. 

-> POP Over Receipt Tolerance etc.

Allows a receipt tolerance percentage for quantities. A setup window allows the user to enter a tolerance percentage, that percentage is then used when a Purchase Order is received. The highest quantity that can be received is the original quantity ordered plus the percentage amount.
